Two Found Dead After Police Respond to Welfare Check from Houston ISD

Authorities are currently investigating a distressing incident that occurred at 7607 Bankside Drive around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14. Houston Police Department (HPD) responded to a welfare check call after the parents failed to pick up their child from school.

The identities of the deceased have not been confirmed but are believed to be a 34-year-old female and a 54-year-old male. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working on verifying their identities.

Upon entering the residence, HPD officers discovered the female victim lying unresponsive on the dining room floor, having suffered blunt force trauma and wounds to the neck. In the same residence, a male was found unresponsive in the game room. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both individuals deceased.

The child, who was found unharmed, has been placed in the custody of Harris County Child Protective Services. The initial welfare check was prompted by concerns raised by Houston Independent School District police officers, who reported that the child had not been picked up from school.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
