Two Dead in Motorcycle Crash on South Loop West in Southwest Houston

Houston police are currently investigating a tragic accident that occurred at 4600 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 1.

A 34-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman tragically lost their lives in the incident. Their identities are awaiting confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The accident transpired when the man, accompanied by the female passenger, was operating a Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle heading southbound near the mentioned location, close to South Post Oak Road. The motorcycle proceeded south on the South Loop and collided with the west wall. The impact resulted in both the man and the woman being thrown from the motorcycle, causing them to fall to the ground below.

Emergency responders from the Houston Fire Department swiftly arrived at the scene. Despite their immediate efforts, both the man and the woman were pronounced deceased on site.

The investigation is continuing.
