The victims were identified as 48-year-old Paul Stevenson and 21-year-old Destini Butler.

According to the Houston Police Department, patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire around 11:45 p.m. on July 13, 2025, in the parking lot of a business at the Dixie Drive address. Officers arrived to find a chaotic scene, with a large crowd running from the area and multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Butler dead at the scene. Stevenson was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Fifteen additional victims were taken to area hospitals by ambulance or private vehicle. Authorities said eight males, ages 52, 21, 19, 19, 19, 18, 17 and 17; and seven females, ages 21, 21, 19, 18, 18, 18 and 14, were listed in stable condition.

Witnesses told investigators that unknown suspects fired multiple rounds into the crowd from a black sedan before fleeing down Dixie Drive.

On Feb. 9, homicide investigators presented evidence to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and all four suspects were formally charged.

Lenton was already in custody at the Harris County Jail on an unrelated charge. Jessie Alfred was arrested Feb. 10 by HPD’s Northbelt and South Gessner tactical teams.

Police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jaquavian Alfred or Joseph Raines — or any details related to the case — to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
