Two Arrested in Fatal Sunnyside Area Shooting That Killed One and Wounded Another

Houston police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting at 10315 Dulcimer Street on February 26 at approximately 11:25 p.m.
Jordan T. Smith, 32, is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court. Desmore Letre Modlist, 27, faces charges of capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court.
The deceased victim has been identified as 37-year-old Craig Johnson. The second victim, age 32, was wounded but is expected to survive.
According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective D. Hobson, patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the residence and found two male roommates suffering gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced Johnson dead at the scene and transported the other man to a hospital.
Investigators learned that two unknown black males exited a vehicle, held one victim at gunpoint in the driveway, and demanded entry into the home. After gaining access, the suspects fired multiple rounds, striking both victims, then fled the scene in a newer model dark SUV.
Following further investigation, Smith was arrested on April 17 and Modlist on May 27. Both men face charges related to the shooting.
