CYPRESS, Texas – Two men were arrested Friday after deputies responded to a report of a driver being followed from a bank, leading to a suspected bank jugging investigation in Cypress, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to the 14100 block of Spring Cypress Road near an H-E-B grocery store after a complainant reported being followed by another vehicle after leaving a bank.

Authorities quickly located the suspect vehicle and established probable cause to conduct a traffic stop. During the investigation, deputies determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and placed him into custody.

As part of the arrest process, deputies conducted an inventory search of the vehicle prior to towing and discovered items commonly associated with bank jugging, a crime involving suspects targeting individuals who have recently withdrawn money from financial institutions.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 32-year-old Nehemiah Devonte Adams and 28-year-old Christopher Marquise Watkins. Both were arrested at the scene and transported to the Harris County Jail.

Adams’ bond was set at $30,000, while Watkins received a $3,000 bond issued by the 232nd District Court.
