Two 17-Year-Olds Identified in Fatal Shooting at Alvin Residence
The two individuals who lost their lives in a shooting incident at a residence in the 700 block of Steele Road have been identified as Aydin Torres and Kalvin Carrasco, both 17 years old and residents of Alvin.
The Alvin Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a break-in and shooting at the location around 8:00 PM on January 17, 2024.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Torres and Carrasco, and another male with an apparent gunshot injury. The injured individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for treatment. The cause of death for Torres and Carrasco is pending examination by the medical examiner.
The identities of other parties involved and the motive behind the incident are currently under investigation.
UPDATE: Captain Todd Arendell of the Alvin Police Department announced that on February 1, 2024 detectives arrested Xzavier Flores, 17, at his home in Alvin. Flores was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault (With a Deadly Weapon) in connection with the January 17th shooting. He is being held in lieu of a $200,000.00 bond. More arrests are imminent and updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
