Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Murder Suspect in Harris County

On December 18, 2023, a routine traffic stop by a deputy from Constable Mark Herman’s office resulted in the apprehension of a murder suspect. The vehicle was pulled over for Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Toll Road While Being Prohibited, and the driver was identified as 22-year-old Desmond Deshun Green.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Green had an open felony warrant issued by the Houston Police Department for Failure to Appear on a Murder charge.

The murder incident took place on January 9, 2023, following a verbal altercation between Green and another man at a bus stop. The confrontation escalated, culminating in Green pulling out a pistol and fatally shooting the victim.

Desmond Deshun Green was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail based on the outstanding murder warrant. The arrest was carried out in collaboration between Constable Mark Herman’s office and the Houston Police Department.
