Three Teens Arrested After Car Burglary Spree in Montgomery County

On October 25, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 3 Patrol responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 20300 block of Presley Grove in Porter, Texas. As they headed to the scene, multiple callers reported that the occupants of the suspicious vehicle were engaged in car burglaries in the area.

Upon arriving at the location, deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the suspicious vehicle. However, the driver of the vehicle refused to comply and instead attempted to evade law enforcement. Deputies pursued the vehicle for several miles, but the driver eventually lost control, causing the vehicle to crash into a curb and collide with a stop sign at the intersection of Mills Branch and Ramrock Drive.

With the assistance of the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office, Sheriff’s deputies successfully apprehended all three individuals who were inside the vehicle. Following a comprehensive investigation, the authorities arrested three individuals: 19-year-old Hudson Bell, 19-year-old Laila Tripp, and 18-year-old Benjamin Moralez.

All three suspects have been charged with two counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of a Firearm. Additionally, Hudson Bell faces an additional charge of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle. Following their arrests, all three were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
