Texas DPS Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Arrested in Chambers County

On November 27, 2024, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) assisted the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in apprehending Michael Petterson, listed on the Texas DPS Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders for sex offender violations.

Authorities tracked Petterson to a residence in Old River. Law enforcement surrounded the home and called for Petterson to surrender. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Marshals and CCSO, Petterson complied without incident.

He was transported to the Chambers County Jail, bringing the operation to a safe conclusion. Sheriff Brian Hawthorne commended the teamwork that ensured a successful apprehension.
