Texas City ICAC Operation Ends with Suspect Taking Own Life

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11:30 pm, a coordinated Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) operation took place in Texas City.

This operation involved thirteen law enforcement agencies from various counties.

During the operation, a suspect identified through the investigation was located in the 2600 block of 21st St N. in Texas City. As officers attempted to detain the individual, the suspect produced a handgun and sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The investigation into the incident has been assigned to the Texas Rangers Office.
