Texas City Arrest: Suspect Apprehended for Aggravated Robbery, Firearm Possession

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, authorities made a significant arrest in Texas City. The Texas City Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit (CSU), aided by the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Galveston Police Department, apprehended 36-year-old Phillip Jarrell Young. Young was wanted on an outstanding aggravated robbery warrant from the Austin Police Department and a Pardon and Parole Warrant for aggravated robbery.

During the arrest, law enforcement recovered a handgun, which had been implicated in two prior shootings in Texas City and Galveston County. Phillip Young is currently held in the Galveston County Jail on a $200,000 bond for a new charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. The investigation is ongoing, and further warrants may be issued in due course.
