Teen with Prior Robbery Arrests Taken Into Custody After Car Break-Ins in Spring

SPRING, TX – A 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody Tuesday evening after a series of incidents that began with a vehicle burglary and ended with a brief foot chase through a Spring neighborhood.
According to Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies were called to the 300 block of Burris Park Drive on January 6, 2026, in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. The complainant told deputies he stepped outside his home and discovered a male suspect inside his black 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.
When confronted, the suspect ran from the scene on foot. The complainant then saw the same individual attempting to break into another vehicle nearby. A physical altercation followed, during which the suspect assaulted the complainant before fleeing once again. No injuries were reported.
Constable deputies quickly began searching the area and initially located the suspect nearby. The juvenile jumped a fence and tried to escape, prompting an extended search. Deputies eventually found him hiding behind an air-conditioning unit, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Investigators later learned the juvenile had just committed a robbery at a local smoke shop prior to the vehicle burglary. Records also show the teen has multiple prior arrests, including evading arrest and two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Assault, according to Constable Mark Herman.
