Teen Suspect Wanted By Houston Police in Connection to Fatal Shooting on West 34th Street in November

Charges have been filed against 18-year-old Joseph Refugio Ramos in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Dominique Rice on November 12, 2023. Ramos faces a murder charge in the 488th State District Court.

Houston Police responded to a shooting call at 4800 West 34th Street around 3:50 a.m., where they discovered Mr. Rice lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, Rice was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A witness reported walking with Rice when a vehicle approached, and several suspects exited. One of the suspects produced a pistol, shooting Rice multiple times before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. The witness managed to escape unharmed.

Following an investigation, Ramos was identified as one of the suspects and was charged on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in connection with the shooting.
