Teen Sentenced to 20 Years for Manslaughter in Port Arthur Shooting

On April 29, 2024, 17-year-old Kharin Lee White received a 20-year prison sentence after accepting a plea bargain for the September 10, 2022 shooting death of 26-year-old Port Arthur resident Quarderious Terrell Jordan. White pleaded guilty to Manslaughter.

Despite being 15 years old at the time of the incident, White was tried as an adult following certification in Judge Thorne’s court.

The Port Arthur Police Department extended appreciation to Detective Adam Cousins, along with other detectives and responding officers, for their dedicated efforts leading to the successful prosecution and conviction of the case. Additionally, prosecutor Luke Nichols from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office was acknowledged for his contributions.
