HUMBLE, Texas – A 17-year-old girl has been charged with murder after a man was found fatally shot Thursday night at an apartment complex in the Humble area of northeast Harris County.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on May 28 to a service call at an apartment complex in the 14800 block of Woodland Hills Drive, near North Sam Houston Parkway East.

When deputies arrived, they discovered an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as 20-year-old Marcus Harris.

Investigators said a teenager, identified as Jazlyn Easter, returned to the scene and told deputies she had been present when the shooting occurred.

Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide Detectives responded to process the scene and conduct a follow-up investigation.

According to detectives, Harris and Easter were involved in a dating relationship, and the shooting allegedly stemmed from an argument involving accusations of infidelity.

Easter, whose date of birth is listed as March 26, 2009, was charged with murder in connection with Harris’ death.

The investigation remains ongoing. As with all criminal cases, Easter is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
