Suspect Wanted for 2021 Fatal Shooting in Southwest Houston Finally Arrested

A suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Houston, which occurred on August 29, 2021, has been arrested and charged with murder. The suspect has been identified as Marlon Moises Garcia, 22 years old, who is now facing charges in the 184th State District Court.

The victim, Luis Garcia, aged 33, lost his life in the incident.

The shooting took place at 12325 Hillcroft Avenue around 3:05 a.m. and was the result of an argument and physical altercation during a gathering at a residence located at the aforementioned address. Several individuals were present during the events leading up to the shooting, and some witnesses reported hearing gunshots after the altercation occurred in the front yard. The suspect or suspects involved in the incident fled the scene in an unknown direction.

During the early stages of the investigation, Marlon Moises Garcia, who has no relation to the victim, emerged as a person of interest and was wanted for questioning. Subsequent investigations led to the filing of a murder charge against Garcia in October 2022.

On Monday, October 16, 2023, officers successfully arrested Marlon Moises Garcia, bringing him into custody to face the charges against him.
