Suspect Sought in Fatal Stabbing at Katy Freeway Hotel

Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at a hotel located at 14833 Katy Freeway service road around 9:50 p.m. on Monday, March 3.
The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Houston police officers responded to a stabbing call and arrived to find Houston Fire Department paramedics providing medical aid to a male with a stab wound. Paramedics transported him to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Witnesses reported that a man known as “Alex” got into a verbal argument with the victim, which escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, Alex stabbed the victim once with a knife before fleeing the scene on foot.
Alex is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a slight build, chin-length curly dark and graying hair, and a short beard. He is known to frequent the area around the hotel.
