Suspect Shot and Killed During Home Invasion in Central Southwest Houston
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5703 Heatherbloom Drive in Central Southwest Houston about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11th. The case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male, believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The female shooter, 36, was not injured.
According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Providence and C. Davidson, patrol officers responded to a home invasion call at the address and found the male inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced him deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements revealed that the male had entered the home without permission and was shot as a result.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and it was determined that the case will be reviewed by a grand jury.
