Suspect Identified and Wanted in Shooting of 7-Year-Old During Road Rage Incident

Charges have been filed against Marcus Keith Burns, 29, in connection with the shooting of a 7-year-old girl on July 9, 2023, at 7500 Bellfort Avenue. Burns faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court.

The victim, a 7-year-old female, was shot while riding as a passenger in her mother’s vehicle. The incident occurred during a road rage altercation with an unknown male driving a black Lexus. The child sustained injuries to her leg and thigh and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Houston Police Officers responded to a shooting call at the specified address, where witnesses reported the road rage incident escalating into gunfire. Detectives identified Marcus Keith Burns as the suspect responsible for the shooting. He was charged on Thursday (Feb. 1) for his role in the incident.
