Charges Filed Against Suspect in Leffingwell Street Shooting; Public Urged to Help Locate Him
Charges have been filed against Joshua Jose Escobar, 30, in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on January 23 at 4601 Leffingwell Street around 1:25 a.m. Escobar is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 176th State District Court.
Houston Police responded to a shooting at the mentioned address and discovered a 24-year-old man with gunshot wounds to both legs. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that the victim engaged in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. Shortly afterward, a friend of the girlfriend arrived at the scene and fired multiple shots at the victim. Subsequently, the suspect, Escobar, and the girlfriend fled together in a dark sedan.
Further investigation led to the identification of Joshua Jose Escobar as the suspect. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was informed, resulting in charges against Escobar. Currently, he remains at large.
