Suspect Fatally Shot After Assaulting Deputy During Disturbance Call in Magnolia

In the early hours of December 11, 2024, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance call at the 26000 block of Aberdeen Drive in Magnolia, Texas. The call reported a conflict between family members.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered a male suspect who refused to comply with verbal commands and resisted arrest. A second deputy intervened, and the suspect actively attempted to grab the deputy’s firearm. Fearing for their safety, the first deputy discharged his firearm, striking the suspect. Deputies immediately provided life-saving measures until EMS arrived.

Both the deputy and the suspect were transported to a local hospital. The deputy was treated for facial injuries and has since been released. The suspect succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, are investigating the incident. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers are conducting parallel investigations.

The identity of the deceased suspect has not been released to allow time for next of kin to notify additional family members.
