Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Woman Found in Del Papa Street
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman found at 14100 Del Papa Street about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday (May 10).
The suspect, Ausencio Garcia, 44, is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A photo of Garcia, courtesy of the Bellville Police Department, is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Julia Picazo Carranza, 40.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and L. Kauffman reported:
Officers were dispatched to a stabbing call at the residence at the above address and found Picazo Carranza inside the home. She had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced deceased.
After speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence, detectives determined the suspect was her husband, Garcia. They learned Garcia was arrested several hours later at the conclusion of a vehicle pursuit in Bellville, Texas. Garcia remains in custody there and will eventually be transported to the Harris County Jail.
