Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting Outside Austin Gas Station

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Keaton Delcore in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22, 2025.

At approximately 12:29 a.m., Austin Police Department officers and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a report of a man bleeding on the ground at the Apple Mart gas station located at 2101 Wickersham Lane. Officers arrived to find Delcore suffering from neck trauma. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 1:00 a.m.

An initial investigation determined that Delcore had approached an unidentified male in the parking lot before being shot. The suspect fled the scene.

Detectives later identified the shooter as Vondell Louis Crawford, 28. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force apprehended Crawford, who has since been charged with First Degree Murder. He is being held at the Travis County Jail.
