Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit in Harris County

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, a pursuit unfolded in Harris County when Precinct 8 Deputy Burden, with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office, attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 4700 block of the E Sam Houston Twy.

The vehicle in question failed to comply, prompting a chase. The pursuit continued as the vehicle drove recklessly at high speed, eventually entering the Fairway Plaza shopping center in the 5600 block of Fairmont Pkwy.

Despite efforts to evade authorities, the vehicle eventually halted its reckless course in the 5300 block of Kent Dr. The driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Responding deputies established a perimeter and successfully located the suspect inside a business in the 3900 block of Mickey Gilley Blvd.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Albert Cruz Espinoza Garcia. Further investigation revealed an outstanding felony warrant for Robbery issued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Subsequently, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office was notified and opted to press additional charges of Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle.

Following the arrest, Garcia was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center. His bond was subsequently set at $2,000.
