SPRING, TEXAS – A burglary call on Christmas Eve led to a brief vehicle pursuit and arrest in Spring, according to Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

On December 24, 2025, deputies were dispatched to the 21100 block of Kuykendahl Road in reference to a possible burglary. When deputies arrived, they observed a male suspect fleeing the building and entering a nearby vehicle.

Constable deputies quickly located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, leading deputies on a short pursuit. The chase ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident and identified as 38-year-old Syed Tirmizi. During the investigation, deputies determined Tirmizi was in possession of a controlled substance.

Tirmizi was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. His total bond was set at $35,000 through the 482nd District Court.
