Spring Branch ISD Dispatcher Found Shot to Death in Willow Springs Subdivision

On Friday, November 15, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM, deputies from the Harris County Precinct #1 Constable’s Office responded to a report of an “Unknown Medical Emergency” at a residence in the 12000 block of Mallard Stream Court in the Willow Springs Subdivision.

Upon arrival, deputies and medical personnel discovered the body of 37-year-old Jose Torres, who had been fatally shot. Family members informed authorities that Torres, a dispatcher with the Spring Branch ISD Police Department, was scheduled to pick up his wife and children from school. When he failed to arrive, they were driven by another family member and discovered his body at home.

Investigators from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Units have launched a follow-up investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that Torres had been working in his yard when he was approached by unknown individuals and shot.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding Torres’ death.
