Six Dead in Downtown Houston Crash, Victims Identified

In the early hours of Saturday, November 11, a devastating crash at the intersection of Pierce Street and Fannin Street has left six people dead and two others hospitalized. Houston police have identified the victims and provided details surrounding the incident.

The five men who lost their lives in the collision were identified as Izuchu Oragwu (31), Frank Johnson (31), Zachary McMillian (32), Derek Hayden (33), and Christian Herrera (25). The sole woman among the deceased is Lauren Robinson (32).

According to the ongoing investigation, Ms. Robinson was driving a black Acura SUV eastbound on Pierce Street with a green light when the tragedy occurred. Christian Herrera, behind the wheel of a black Chrysler 300, was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Fannin Street and ran a red light, colliding with the Acura.

The impact of the collision resulted in three individuals being ejected from the Acura. The Chrysler, after striking the Acura, veered off the roadway, onto a sidewalk, and tragically struck pedestrian Frank Johnson.

Both drivers, Christian Herrera and Lauren Robinson, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Paramedics also pronounced Izuchu Oragwu and Frank Johnson deceased on-site, while Zachary McMillian and Derek Hayden were later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Two additional passengers from the Acura, a 32-year-old male and a 30-year-old female, are currently hospitalized. The woman is in critical but stable condition, while the man is in stable condition. Fortunately, both are able to communicate.

As the investigation unfolds, it is not believed that there were any passengers in the Chrysler at the time of the incident.
