Shots Fired Incident in Cincinnati Entertainment District Leads to Arrest

In the early hours of September 3, 2023, at approximately 2:30 AM, the El Paso Police Department received a call reporting shots fired at 2725 N. Mesa Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the incident was connected to an earlier disturbance in the Cincinnati Entertainment District.

According to police reports, officers had previously responded to a disturbance involving a group of individuals in the Cincinnati Entertainment District before the shots were fired. An investigation revealed that a shirtless male had discharged a firearm and fled the scene before law enforcement’s arrival.

The scene was processed, and evidence was collected during the investigation. Subsequently, the identity of the individual responsible for the gunfire was determined.

On September 15, evidence recovered from another discharge of a firearm incident that occurred on June 10th in the Cincinnati District area was linked to the September 3rd shooting.

On November 1st, Ny’Quan Ontario Thames was taken into custody by El Paso Police and subsequently charged in connection with both cases of Discharge of a Firearm in Certain Municipalities. Following his arrest, Thames was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
