Shooting in Road Rage Incident on Ben White Blvd Under Investigation

On Monday, January 22, 2024, at around 5:37 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 Block of W Ben White Boulevard heading eastbound. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a vehicle with two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.

The victims, one adult and a juvenile child, were transported to a local hospital and are currently reported to be in stable condition.

According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred when the victims’ vehicle was cut off by a dark grey Volkswagen sedan occupied by two black males. The passenger of the Volkswagen, identified as Suspect #2, fired multiple gunshots into the victim’s vehicle, hitting both occupants.

Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:

  • Black male
  • Thin build
  • Early 20s

Suspect #2 (Passenger):

  • Black male
  • Thin build
  • Early 20s
  • Dreadlocks hairstyle

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model Volkswagen sedan, dark grey in color, and similar to a Jetta.
