Shooting at El Paso House Party Leads to Two Injuries and Arrests

On September 3, 2023, at approximately 1:32 a.m., the El Paso Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a house party located at the 10900 block of Gary Player Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered a large gathering of partygoers dispersing from the backyard of a residence. Their investigation revealed that two victims had sustained gunshot wounds.

The first victim, 20-year-old Christian Rivera of El Paso, was discovered at the scene and provided with immediate medical attention. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The second victim, 17-year-old Jeremy Ozuna from Horizon, Texas, had been transported to a local hospital by attendees from the party.

Crimes Against Persons Detectives were called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Their findings indicated that multiple gunshots were fired, leading to injuries for both victims.

As a result of their investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for two individuals believed to be involved in the shooting. 19-year-old Luis Ruiz from Horizon and 18-year-old Alan Villanueva from El Paso were taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

The El Paso Police Department used this incident to remind the public to prioritize safety and to avoid confrontations, especially at social gatherings.
