Shooting at El Paso Bar Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

A shooting at El Jaguar Restaurant and Bar, located at 5200 N. Mesa, on October 15th, 2023, left three young individuals injured. The victims have been identified as Rosario Gonzalez, a 21-year-old resident of El Paso, who lost her life, Victor Manuel Gonzalez, an 18-year-old also from El Paso, and Carlos Marin Jr., a 17-year-old resident of Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

Officers responded to the incident, finding one of the victims with a gunshot wound to the leg. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. In response to the incident, the Gang Unit and Crimes Against Persons teams also arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that a dispute among patrons of the bar escalated into a physical altercation in the establishment’s parking lot. Rosario Gonzalez, one of the victims, succumbed to the injuries she sustained during the altercation.

The El Paso Police Department is actively conducting an inquiry into the incident, with an emphasis on gathering more information about the individuals responsible for the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
