Serial Bike Thief with 99-Year Sentence History Wanted Again in the Heights
Wanted: Jesse Angelo Perez Jr.

A thief with a long criminal history — including at least 10 felony convictions and sentences totaling 99 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice — is back on the streets and suspected of burglarizing homes and stealing bicycles in the Heights.

Suspect
Jesse Angelo Perez Jr., 56, is wanted for stealing two Townie Electra bikes from the garage of a townhome on West 23rd Street. Investigators say he was last seen fleeing on a white Trek mountain bike, also believed to be stolen.

Constable’s Statement
“As long as he keeps breaking the law, we will never stop arresting him,” Constable Alan Rosen said. “How he should be punished is up to the court system, but enough is enough.”

Ongoing Investigation
Perez is also suspected in a theft at Heights High School last month, where a Specialized Dolce bike was stolen after a chain lock was cut while a student was in class.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Perez’s crimes or whereabouts to contact Constable Precinct One detectives at joseph.bowden@cn1.hctx.net.

“If you know where he is, let us know,” Constable Rosen added. “Somebody has seen him.”
