Second Suspect Arrested in 2024 Fatal Shooting on Bellfort Avenue

Houston police have arrested a second suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 5899 Bellfort Avenue on May 22, 2024.

Osirus Chandler, 26, is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. Another suspect, Sean Donte Bullard, 26, is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court.

The victim is identified as Nicholas Batiste, 22. He was found unresponsive on a sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Bullard was arrested in Tyler County on February 19, 2025, by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force with assistance from the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office.

Chandler was taken into custody on August 15, 2025, on an unrelated charge and booked into the Harris County Jail. He was later charged in connection with the shooting.
