Royse City Officer Awarded Star of Texas Award

Royse City Police Officer Michael Baley was awarded the Star of Texas by Governor Greg Abbott in Austin ,TX today, September 11,2023. The Star of Texas is awarded to Texas law enforcement officers who gave their lives or sustained serious injuries in the line of duty.

Officer Baley was presented the award for being seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle while he was outside his patrol car on IH30 helping a stranded motorist on April 10, 2021.

Officer Baley’s family, his wife Dana and sons William and Jackson, were on stage with him when the Governor presented the award.

The City of Royse City is blessed and very proud to have Officer Baley serving our community.
