Rosenberg Business Owner Arrested After Hidden Camera Found in Restroom

ROSENBERG, Texas – Rosenberg Police Department arrested a Rosenberg business owner Wednesday after investigators allegedly discovered a hidden camera inside a restroom at a commercial property on 1st Street.

According to police, officers served an arrest warrant on May 20 at 1310 1st Street, Suite A, in Rosenberg for attempted invasive visual recording, a Class A misdemeanor.

The investigation began after a woman reported what she believed to be a hidden camera inside the restroom of a local business.

Hidden Camera Allegedly Found During Search

Based on information gathered during the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for the property located at 1310 1st Street.

Police said the building houses several businesses, including:

  • IT Systemworks
  • NYPizza & Gyro Inc
  • Pearson VUE Testing Center

During the search, officers allegedly located what appeared to be a hidden camera concealed in the ceiling of a restroom.

Authorities identified the suspect as Umair Ali, 41, who police described as the business owner or operator connected to the investigation.

Ali was taken into custody and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail, where he is being held on a $30,000 bond.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

Police said the investigation remains active and additional charges could be filed.
