Roman Forest Officer Injured in Crash While Pursuing Speeding Vehicle

A Roman Forest police officer is in stable condition at Kingwood Hospital after a crash on Cambridge Boulevard near Galaxy Boulevard during a vehicle pursuit on Monday evening.

The incident began when the officer, conducting a traffic stop on Galaxy Boulevard, observed a black four-door car with a loud exhaust speeding dangerously past the scene. The officer initiated a pursuit as the vehicle turned onto Cambridge Boulevard and turned off its lights. While following the car, the officer lost control where the road converges into a single lane, resulting in the crash.

According to the officer, the same vehicle has been observed passing him at high speeds during previous traffic stops, seemingly in an attempt to provoke a response.

Authorities are currently reviewing video footage from the scene to identify leads in the investigation.
