Road Rage Incident Leads to Gunfire on Sawdust Road in Montgomery County

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Division are investigating a road rage incident that occurred yesterday on Sawdust Road involving a red Ford F-150 pickup truck and a blue Chrysler Town and Country van.

During the altercation, the driver of the van allegedly pointed a firearm at the pickup truck driver. In response, the driver of the pickup truck fired multiple shots, grazing the van driver’s ear and striking the window of a nearby business. The driver of the van fled the scene on foot but returned when law enforcement arrived.

Both drivers have cooperated with the investigation, and neither is seeking charges. However, conflicting statements regarding the events and self-defense claims have prompted further inquiry.

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to a grand jury for review once completed. Names of those involved are being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation.
