Registered Sex Offender Arrested in Houston on Child Exploitation Charges

Byron Richard Guidry, a registered sex offender recently released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, was arrested this morning in Houston on multiple charges related to child exploitation. The arrest was a collaborative effort between Constable Ryan Gable’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) – Human Trafficking (HT), and the Houston Police Department.

Guidry, a repeat offender currently on parole for previous offenses involving the sexual exploitation of minors, was apprehended without incident at a Houston residence. Arrest warrants, secured by ICAC/HT detectives at Constable Gable’s office, were executed at the location on April 21st, 2025.

Following an extensive investigation into online and in-person exploitation and human trafficking, Guidry faces charges that include online solicitation of a minor, sexual conduct, and the promotion and possession of child pornography. He has been booked into the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail and is being held without bond.

The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office and HSI’s Human Smuggling and Trafficking division are jointly managing the case.

Constable Ryan Gable’s Office affirmed its commitment to aggressively pursuing individuals who exploit and harm children. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are being withheld to protect the integrity of the case and potential victims.
