Port Arthur Woman Sentenced to 30 Years in Federal Prison Producing Child Porn

Sasha Sheree Abshire, 36, of Port Arthur, has been sentenced to 30 years (360 months) in federal prison for child exploitation violations, Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced. U.S. District Judge Michael Truncale handed down the sentence on June 24, 2025, after Abshire pleaded guilty to production of child pornography.
According to information presented in court, law enforcement in July 2024 received information that sexually explicit photos of a pre-school age child were being offered for online distribution by an individual linked to Abshire. Abshire subsequently sent images of child pornography from her cell phone. Some of the images depicted an adult woman’s face, which social media accounts belonging to Abshire confirmed to be her. Federal agents arrested Abshire at her Port Arthur home and confirmed she was the woman who produced the child pornography.
This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Port Arthur Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Grove prosecuting the case.
