Porch Pirate Captured: Suspect Charged in The Woodlands Holiday Package Thefts

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit arrested a suspect tied to a series of Christmas package thefts in The Woodlands’ Alden Bridge neighborhood. The investigation began after multiple residents reported stolen holiday deliveries.
Ring Camera Footage Leads to Break in Case
CRU investigators reviewed Ring camera footage from several homes and noticed the same individual appearing in multiple thefts. While working the case, deputies learned the suspect was already being held at the Montgomery County Jail on an unrelated felony charge.
Suspect Confesses to Multiple Thefts
Investigators identified the suspect as 45-year-old Braidon Wals. During interviews, Wals admitted to committing multiple package thefts throughout the area.
Stolen Property Recovered
Wals later led investigators to his residence in the Alden Bridge neighborhood, where deputies recovered numerous stolen packages and items taken from residents. Authorities say Wals has an extensive criminal history involving theft and fraud in several states.
