Police Pursuit Ends in Crash After Robbery and Vehicle Theft in Williamson County

Early in the morning of April 10th, 2024, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported robbery and motor vehicle theft in Leander’s 700 block of Baker Lane.

According to the caller, two armed males commandeered his vehicle. Deputies spotted the stolen vehicle speeding along US-183, sparking a brief pursuit. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into the woods near US-183 and FM 2243.

Despite a thorough search with K9 units, the suspects, described as two males, one potentially of Hispanic descent, eluded capture. The third occupant of the vehicle was apprehended and questioned.

The Criminal Investigations Division is actively probing the incident and encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward. Authorities reassure the public that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
