Police Arrest Suspect After Attempted Bank Robberies in South Abilene

ABILENE, Texas — On the afternoon of Monday, August 25, 2025, police responded to a report of a robbery in progress at Second Abilene Bank on the 3400 block of South 14th Street in South Abilene.

According to investigators, the suspect fled the scene on foot without obtaining any money. Shortly afterward, the same individual entered a nearby bank and demanded money from tellers.

A patrol officer already in the area due to the initial call encountered the suspect as he exited the second bank and detained him.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Cody Wray Isenberg, who was later arrested and transported to the Taylor County Jail. He has been charged with Second Degree Felony Robbery.

Authorities say it is unclear if the incident is connected to a bank robbery reported on August 11. The investigation remains ongoing.
