Pedestrian Killed in Collision on US 90 in Harris County

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at approximately 6:33 p.m., a fatal collision occurred on the 5700 block of US 90. Gabriel Lopez, driving a gray 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound in the number one lane, struck Uriel Oviedo, who was crossing US 90 from west to east.

Oviedo reportedly failed to yield the right of way to vehicles and was struck by the front right corner of Lopez’s vehicle. Emergency responders from ESD5 Medic #36 arrived on scene and pronounced Oviedo deceased at 6:41 p.m. Lopez was uninjured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with authorities.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate.
