One Dead and Another Injured in East Houston Fatal Shooting

Houston Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at 9923 Valley Club Drive in East Houston around 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24th. The incident resulted in the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Responding to a shooting call at the residence, HPD patrol officers discovered the deceased victim in the driveway. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Another man, aged 41, was found nearby with a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

A potential male suspect, 36, who appeared to be intoxicated on an unknown substance, required immediate medical attention and was taken to an area hospital. The preliminary investigation suggests that the suspect was with the two victims prior to the shooting.

As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
