Nighttime Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests of Two Women in Houston
Hannah Zakas

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Harris County Constable Precinct 3 Night Shift Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop at 16020 East Freeway after observing a Dodge Charger failing to maintain a single lane.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, identified as Hannah Zakas, and her passenger, Crystal Maxey, were asked to step out for safety reasons. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle led deputies to discover a bag of Methamphetamine, weighing 2.15 grams, in the center console.

Zakas admitted that Maxey was carrying drug paraphernalia on her person. Maxey then confessed to concealing a glass pipe. The Harris County District Attorney’s office was contacted, resulting in Zakas being charged and arrested for “possession of a controlled substance,” while Maxey faced charges of “tampering with evidence.”

Upon arrival at the jail, a body search was conducted on Maxey, revealing an additional 1.71 grams of Methamphetamine concealed on her person. As a result, she was further charged with “possession of a controlled substance.” Both individuals are now in custody awaiting legal proceedings.
