Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Collision Near Midland International Air and Space Port

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, at around 6:55 pm, Midland Police Department officers rushed to an accident scene involving a motorcyclist near Midland International Air and Space Port.

According to initial findings, a Hyundai Santa Fe driver was heading south in the turning lane of Farm-to-Market Road 1788 near Loop 40, just west of the airport. Unfortunately, the driver failed to notice a motorcyclist traveling north in the outside lane of FM 1788 and attempted to make a turn, resulting in a collision with the motorcyclist who was riding a 2021 Ducati.

The injured motorcyclist was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with serious bodily harm. The driver of the Santa Fe was released as the investigation progresses.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
