Motorcyclist Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday after he failed to maintain his lane on a curved section of State Highway 99.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on August 28, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9200 block of State Highway 99. A witness told deputies that a motorcycle passed him at a high rate of speed before failing to navigate a curve. The rider traveled into the center median, where the motorcycle and rider struck a metal highway cable barrier and its supports.

EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the rider deceased.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.
