Motorcyclist From Amarillo Dies in Fatal Collision in El Paso

El Paso Special Traffic Investigators responded to a collision involving a motorcycle at the 400 block of N. Yarbrough. The motorcyclist was identified as 47-year-old Reynaldo Rodriguez of Amarillo, Texas. The motorcycle model is a 2000 Honda RVT 1000R, considered a sport bike.

The preliminary investigation revealed Rodriguez was traveling northbound on Yarbrough when he lost control and struck the center median curb. Rodriguez was dislodged from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. Rodriguez was transported to the hospital, however, succumbed to his injuries.

The main contributing factor of this fatality is the failure to control speed. This is the 53rd traffic fatality compared to 51 at this time last year.
