Motorcyclist Dead in Crash After Running Stop Sign At High Rate of Speed

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at approximately 2:03 PM, a tragic incident unfolded in the 15100 block of Crosby Freeway. Moises Monge, operating a yellow Peterbilt tanker truck, was making a right turn into the 7900 block of Miller Road after stopping at a stop sign.

Simultaneously, an unknown male operating a red Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound in the right turn lane at a high rate of speed on the outside improved shoulder. The Yamaha operator ran the stop sign, leading to a collision with the right side of Moises Monge’s tanker truck.

Emergency services responded promptly, but the motorcycle operator was found with no signs of life at the scene by Southlake EMS at 2:08 PM. Moises Monge, the truck driver, remained on the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
