Motorcycle Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I10

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at around 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th, at the 3400 block of Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10).

The victim, a 41-year-old male, was riding a red Harley Davidson Softail motorcycle in the westbound lanes near the mentioned location when he collided with the rear of a dark-colored SUV, make and model unknown. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from his motorcycle onto the freeway’s main lanes. A red Honda Accord, also traveling westbound, struck the fallen rider.

The victim succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Houston Fire Department paramedics who responded to the scene. The driver of the Honda Accord cooperated with authorities and remained at the site of the incident. However, the driver of the dark-colored SUV fled the scene without stopping to offer assistance.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
